Lot Essay

The attribution to Corot was confirmed by Martin Dieterle in a letter dated 7 September 2004. The drawing will be included in the forthcoming addition to the Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre graphique de Corot currently being prepared by Jill Newhouse and Martin Dieterle.
This drawing was executed in the region of Naples, that Corot visited in the Spring of 1828.
