Possibly a study for the Monument to Maréchal de Moncey for which there is a plaster dating from 1864 at the Petit Palais, Paris (The passions of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, exh. cat. New York, Metropolitan Museum and Musée d'Orsay, Paris, 2014, no. 101, ill. p. 181).
