Lucretia Grindle on Golden Sparrow

Patricia Grindle, the sitter's mother, was Director of the Moat House Riding School, at which Princess Anne, amongst others, was a student. Jean Bowman painted the present work and another of Patricia Grindle during the summer of 1969 during a three week stay at the Moat House, Benenden, Kent.
