Lot Essay

Jeanne Selmersheim-Desgranges began her career as a jewelry designer. In the early 1900s she met Paul Signac and became his second wife. Beginning in 1909, Selmersheim-Desgranges exhibited regularly with the Société des Artistes indépendants and in the early 1930s her paintings were included in several Paris exhibitions dedicated to Neo-Impressionism.
