A 2½-inch (6.3cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores and two polar calottes (poorly aligned), the equatorial graduated in degrees and twice twelve hours, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the anti-meridian graduated in degrees, the oceans showing unlabelled steamship routes, the continents with nation states coloured in green, yellow, pink and orange and showing towns, cities and rivers, Europe shown as post-World War I, Leningrad labelled Petersbourg, with brass finial, raised on a simple turned ebonised column and circular plinth base -- 5.1/8in. (13cm.) high; and J.L. & CIE PARIS J.C.B. Grav. [c.1850], a 2-inch (5.1cm.) diameter miniature terrestrial globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees and twice twelve hours, the ecliptic graduated in days of the houses of the Zodiac with sigils, the anti-meridian graduated in degrees, the continents delicately shaded in green, yellow, orange and pink, with little detail beyond some place names and some rivers, Australia labelled NLE HOLLANDE (repaired crack around equator with repainting obscuring some detail to South America and the Pacific), raised on a simple turned ebonised column and plinth base -- 4½in. (11.4cm.) high
