Jim Beaman (20th Century)
The Playboy Art Gallery is again an example of the magazine's support of fine art. This series ran intermittently for several years, offering Playboy readers a witty deconstruction of iconic images from art history. The paintings -art about art- represent an interesting aspect of the magazine's determination to engage readers in a dialogue about culture.
