Lot Essay

The present work shows Elsa Lancaster stepping into the bath. Lancaster was an English character actress who began performing in London theatre and cabarets during World War I, before moving to Hollywood with her actor husband Charles Laughton, where she appeared in films such as the Bride of Frankenstein in 1935.
