Lot Essay

Montreith, a chestnut colt by Haphazard, foaled in 1817, was a full brother to Sir William Maxwell's Filho da Puta, winner of the 1815 St. Leger. Monreith won the first running of the 'Cocked Hat Stakes' at Doncaster in 1820.
