No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.

Notice to Buyers outside Scotland Purchases made by buyers with addresses outside Scotland will be transferred to Christie's, 8 King Street, London SW1, for collection from noon on Monday, 30 October 2000. Purchases are only insured for a period of seven working days following the sale.

Lot Essay

Although dated 1937, this work is presumably that exhibited at the Society of Scottish Artists the previous year as, Autumn Piece with Seeds and Cones, and subsequently at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1962 under the same title.
