Lot Essay

In 1946, arthistorian G. Knuttel wrote the following on the nude in Rädecker's oeuvre: "From the beginning, it is the human being that employs Rädecker, more specifically, the female nude, as a pure impersonation of the female essence. He is not concerned with the rendering of a certain body, but with the dreamed ideal of the Woman and, moreover, with what seems to be essentially feminine to him". (cf.lit. exh.cat. The Hague, Haags Gemeentemuseum, Gerijpte Kunst, 1946, p. 41-42)
