Lot Essay

A plaster of this work, also titled Jeune fille à la cruche. was exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1912, then at the Armory Show in 1913, and featured alongside works by Brancusi, Maillol and Lehmbruck. This bronze example was executed in an edition of twenty-eight examples by the Valsuani foundry.
