Lot Essay

There are several artists named Kano Sadanobu, including Kano Ryuhaku Sadanobu (1666-1722), who may have painted this scroll. The eight scenes with accompanying poems include Evening Bell at Shugakuin, Evening glow at Matsuzaki, Wild geese descending at Hirata, and Snow at dusk on Mount Hiei.
