KEKE ROSBERG
World Champion driver 1982. Winner of five Grands Prix. When James Hunt retired in mid-season 1979, Peter Warr flew to the Can Am race at Mid-Ohio where he reached agreement with Keke's team owner, Paul Newman, to release him for the Formula One. Keke, who had made a big impact by winning the non-championship International Trophy race in 1978 at Silverstone, was thus launched on his Formula One career which was to see him World Championship Driver for Williams in 1982. Before that he had to struggle to be competitive in a Wolf car for the remainder of 1979 and was number two to Emerson Fittipaldi in 1980 in the Fittipaldi Automotive car.
