Kitagawa Utamaro (1753?-1806) Color woodcut: a young woman strums a shamisen as a boy clasps her from behind, an allusive picture to Sekidera, from the series Furyu nana Komachi (Fashionable Seven Komachi), signed Utamaro hitsu and published by Tsuruya Kinsuke--good impression, slightly faded, attached to thin paper at top oban tate-e: 15 3/8 x 19 1/8in. (39 x 25.7cm.)
