(Scattered spotting and browning, occasional dampstaining heaviest to vol. VI, a few small marginal tears.) Contemporary marbled boards (lightly rubbed).

FIRST EDITION of the works of the German polymath Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. ‘The position of Leibniz at the beginning of modern science is analogous to that of Aristotle at the beginning of ancient science’ (DSB VIII, p.151).
