Lot Essay

Léon Bakst designed the costumes for a production of Joseph Bayer's ballet La Fée des Poupées, which was first performed at the Hermitage Theatre in St Petersburg in February 1903. The present set of postcards was issued for the benefit of the St Evgenii Red Cross Society.
