Lot Essay

Doctor Alfred Fournier (1832-1914), to whom this painting is dedicated, was a devoted art lover and friend to Léon Tanzi. In his professional life, Doctor Fournier was a noted researcher, spokesman and head of the Department of Dermatology at the Hôpital Saint-Louis.
