Further details
This Life magazine reportage became the inspiration to advertising agent Leo Burnett for his 'Marlboro Man' campaign, launched in 1954. The eventual advertising images have earned a significant place in the histories of art, photography and western culture through their appropriation and dramatic re-contextualisation by artist Richard Prince.
