Engraved title, additional engraved portrait of Livy (some spotting). 18th-century brown morocco by DEROME LE JEUNE, with his ticket, treble gilt fillet with corner rose tool, flat spine gilt lettered and tooled, gilt turn-ins and edges (light scratch to front board). Provenance: Baron Walckenaer (booklabel; sold Paris, 12 April 1853, lot 4559) -- Mortimer L. Schiff (bookplate; his sale, 8 December 1938). This issue with the frontispiece bearing the title as Historiarum quod extat and S.P.Q.R. engraved on the shield: Willems 1548; S de Ricci British and Miscellaneous Signed Bindings in the Mortimer L.
