Lot Essay

These two cameras were used from 1947 to the mid-1960s for photographing cricket matches and for taking balcony photographs at Buckingham Palace from the Queen Victoria Memorial. The cameras were made by various London companies who specialised after the war in camera repair and custom-building equipment for the press.
