Lot Essay

Their serpentined tops are carved with flowered-ribbon guilloches in the French manner and correspond to a pair of card-tables from the Leverhulme Collection that were sold at Anderson Galleries, New York, 9 February 1926 (= 1st. day), lot 24. The fluted and tapering columnar legs reflect the 'antique' style of the 1760s
