The vendor obtained the signature in June 1953 after meeting fellow guest, Marilyn Monroe at the General Brock Hotel where the film crew for Niagara were residing.

Niagara, Twentieth Century Fox, 1952, directed by Henry Hathaway, photography by Joe MacDonald, musical score by Sol Kaplan, starred Joseph Cotton, Marilyn Monroe and others. This, Marilyn's eighteenth film marked the beginning of a new career for her (it was her first big part) - after this film she became acknowledged as a full-fledged star.(See Mark Ricci & Michael Conway the Complete Films of Marilyn Monroe Citadel press, pp 93-97).
