Seeking his advice as to the best contractors to employ on building the Wapping shaft. "Our contract is in the hands of Mr. Sweet, therefore nothing wanted from any other untill returned -- Will you give me the names of persons who may be applied to, as contractors. I have been directed to apply to you for such information -- It is for the Shaft only. The Directors expect a great result from this mode of proceeding -- Send me a reply by tomorrow morning and if you cannot let me know by the Bearer ...."
