HIROSHI FURUYOSHI (JAPANESE, B.1959)

Born in Hiroshima in 1959, Hiroshi Furuyoshi's ultra-realistic paintings have won him international awards and brought him global acclaim. In 2005 he won first prize in the Figurative Category at the International ARC Salon Competition and eclipsed this achievement at the 2009 ARC Salon when he won the prestigious Best in Show award for Julien, sold in these rooms in June 2010. Furuyoshi is inspired by the great masters of the last centuries and has developed a truly unique style. His works are exquisitely detailed and captivate the viewer, drawing them back time and again.
