WINTERBOTTOM, Thomas (1776-1859). An Account of the Native Africans in the Neighborhood of Sierra Leone to which is added an Account of the Present State of Medicine Among Them. London: C. Two folding maps and six plates, most folding (few tears to the map of the Coast, two plates shaved into image border, a few folding plates with very light offsetting). (Title-page of vol. II lightly spotted, blank corner of final leaf torn away.) Modern half-morocco, spines gilt. FIRST EDITION of this scarce work on the slave trade.
