Lot Essay

Sir Charles Shuckburgh (1659-1705) was the only son of Sir John Shuckburgh and his wife Catherine, daughter of Sir Hatton Fermor. He was High Sheriff of Warwick (1685-7), Member of Parliament for Warwickshire (1698-1705), and Master of the Buckhounds to Queen Anne. He married Catherine, daughter of Sir Hugh Stewkley, 2nd Bt., of Hinton, in 1679, and secondly Diana, daughter of 3rd Baron Willoughby de Broke.
