(5 1/8 x 10 5/8 in.), slight browning at center fold, unevenly trimmed at left -- [DARROW, CLARENCE]. "Clarence Darrow's Defence Dr. Sweet's Murder Trial Detroit, Nov. 1925" [manuscript cover title]. Notebook belonging to Joe C. Thomson (of 841 Washington Ave.) containing newsclippings and printed cases relevent to the trial. 4to, cloth-backed marbled boards. Darrow was the defense attorney in the case against Dr. Ossian H. Sweet and 10 other blacks, who were charged with the killing of Leon Breiner in a race disturbance -- [ARITHMETICAL MANUSCRIPT].
