Lot Essay

The Peacemakers (Lot 232) makes a satirical reference to the nature of global politics. The US president Obama is depicted in the guise of a cowboy and a centaur while Putin is a fierce conservative hunter. They seem to be running while arguing across an expanse of human bones. This depiction lays bare how their ideological differences has resulted in countless innocent l ives while the two leaders continue to pretend to fulfill the roles of peacemakers on the international arena. Raising heavy questions, Nano Warsono's The Peacemakers is one of his most articulate commentary on global politics today.
