Lot Essay

The Madonna in the present painting corresponds to that in The Madonna and Child with attendant Saints formerly in the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, Cologne (see R. van Marle, The Development of the Italian School of Painting, X, The Hague, 1928, p. 532, fig. 317.)

Everett Fahy has confirmed the attribution to Neri di Bicci, after inspection of the original.
