Lot Essay

A scribe by the same name, Maqsud al-Haravi, who was skilful in making scientific tools and wrote both nasta'liq and riqa' well, is recorded as an official in the court of the Mughal Emperor Humayun. If our scribe is the same Maqsud al-Haravi, he may have worked in Herat prior to moving to Humayun's court (Mehdi Bayani, Ahval va Asar-e Khosh-Nevisan, Vol. III, Teheran 1348 sh., pp. 918-19).

No other work by him is recorded.
