Lot Essay

Accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Derek Dier. Further accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Ellen Freund, property master for Mad Men.

The present watch was worn by Jon Hamm as Don Draper, the lead character of Mad Men. This Omega Seamaster garnered strong positive attention as having the appropriate aesthetic for what Don Draper would have worn. The present watch was the main watch worn by Draper in season five and Hamm even wore this watch on this exact strap on the April 2013 cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

This Omega Seamaster remains one of the most iconic watches ever seen on television.

The dial was repainted to be black with crosshairs prior to it being worn on the show and another Omega Seamaster was later repainted to have a matching dial in order to serve as a spare if needed, but it was never worn on screen. Earlier this year, that spare Omega Seamaster was donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History as part of a collection of Mad Men artifacts upon the conclusion of the show.

The present Omega is a remarkable opportunity to own a piece of television history.
