ORSON WELLES WORKING SCRIPTS FOR "CITIZEN KANE" AND "THE AMERICAN", two carbon scripts fastened together as one vol., dated 4/30/40 - 5/9/40, manilla cover inscribed Mr. Welles' Working Copy, the text with various pencil annotations; together with a working script from The Magnificient Ambersons, 1942

Note: Orson Welles cared very little for the facade of Hollywood giltter. He kept very little memorabilia and what he did keep was usually in the condition it came in. Where most actors and directors have scripts bound in leather, Welles' script has the same manilla cover it did while he worked on the film. This was the only version of the script he retained in his collection.
