the set of six lithographs each printed in a different colour, in the spatter technique, 1923, on machine-made laid paper with an Armoured Fist (Panzerfaust) watermark, each signed in pencil, with the lithographed title page, the cover missing, numbered on the title page, copy number 10, from the edition of fifty, printed at the Staatliches Bauhaus, Weimar, one of only five known copies of this extremely rare set of prints, the full sheets, mould stains at the upper right corners and the right edge on some sheets, a few light, scattered foxmarks and creases in the margins

Provenance
Ruth Valentin-Citroen; and then by decent.

Ruth Valentin (1906-2002) was a student at the Bauhaus from 1920-24. She attended Johannes Itten's preparatory course, and subsequently his weaving class. She was married to Hans Citroen, brother of Paul, a prominent Bauhaus pupil. She emigrated in January 1933.
