Each vase is decorated to the ovoid body in green enamels outlined in underglaze-blue with two striding five-clawed dragons amidst clouds, chasing a flaming pearl. The shoulders are painted with a band of the Eight Buddhist Emblems, Bajixiang, above a ruyi border. The circular covers are painted to the top with a further writhing dragon and flaming pearl.
