Lot Essay

Compare the current lot to a black-lacquered incense stand of similar quatrefoil form, dating to the early Qing dynasty, illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Furniture of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, vol.53, Hong Kong, 2002, p.197, pl.168.
