Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial and luminous gold indexes in 1977 and its subsequent sale on 12 July 1978.

To the best of our knowledge, less than fifty examples have appeared in public auction to date, the present watch is furthermore fresh to the market.

The celebrated Nautilus reference 3700/1 was launched in 1976 and remained in production until 1986. The model is illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second édition, p. 231.
