Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1938 and its subsequent sale on 16 June 1938.

The present watch is one of the earliest known examples of a reference 130 chronograph. Fitted with a very interesting dial, featuring the typical late 1930s sector design combined with the very architectural rectangular applied hour markers, it also shows the lesser known pulsation scale. In fact, as the archives mention that the watch was originally delivered with the more commonly found tachymetre dial, it was probably upon a doctor's request that the present dial was mounted.
