A fine and rare 18K gold chronograph wristwatch Signed Patek Philippe, Geneve, movement no. 868'478, case no. 672'199, ref. 533, manufactured in 1952 Cal. 13''' nickel-finished lever movement, 23 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, the silvered matte dial with applied gold baton and Arabic numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions and tachymetre scale, two subsidiary dials indicating constant seconds and 30 minutes register, in circular case with downturned lugs, two rectangular chronograph buttons in the band, 18K gold Patek Philippe buckle, case, dial and movement signed 33 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with applied gold hour markers and tachymetre scale in 1952 and its subsequent sale on 22 December 1953.

It has never been offered in public before.

Reference 533 was introduced into the market in 1937 and is distinguished by the elegant look of its Calatrava case with the typical flat bezel. This model was in production until 1956. Interestingly, the majority was cased in pink gold.
