Lot Essay

The present timepiece is offered in excellent condition and is from the first series made with subsidiary seconds.

Reference 570 was produced from 1938 until approximately 1972. The model known as the ‘Grande’ Calatrava was produced in three series. The first with the caliber 12-120 such as the presently offered lot, the second series bearing caliber 12-400 and beginning in 1960 the third series using the caliber 27AM.

Other examples of reference 570 are described and illustrated in Patek Philippe Museum Patek Philippe Watches, Volume II, pp. 331-335.
