With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1973 and its subsequent sale on 22 April 1974.
It has never been offered at auction before and is thought to be one of only ten examples of reference 3588/2 to appear in public to date.

Reference 3588 was launched in 1970, the first series bearing reference 3588/1; production of reference 3588/2, the second series, started in 1972.
