Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1938 and its subsequent sale on 10 April 1938. It has never been offered in public before.

It is interesting to note that it is one of the earliest examples of a reference 130 known to exist. As offered by the family of the original owner, the watch is in very original and unrestored condition. The watch with the previous movement number 862'000 is also fitted with the popular sector dial, typical for chronographs of the late 1930s.

A similar watch is illustrated in Ore d'Oro 2 by Jader Barracca, Giampiero Negretti, Franco Nencini, pl. C9.

For an example of a reference 130 single button chronograph wristwatch with sector dial see lot 300 in this sale.
