Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with applied hour markers in 1948 and its subsequent sale on 17 January 1949. Furthermore delivered with copies of the letter of Patek Philippe Geneva dated 17 August 1983 stating the sale of the watch to Eberhard on 17 January 1949 and copy of Deutsche Patek Philippe GmbH invoice of 9 December 1983 for its servicing.

To the best of our knowledge, the present watch has never been offered in public before.

Production of the celebrated Calatrava model with reference 96 was launched in 1932. In 1950 it was replaced by reference 2457.
