Lot Essay

This work relates to Caulfield's screenprint, Brown Pot, 1994, on which he based his mosaic for Arco di Travertino Station on the Rome metro, unveiled in the autumn of 2001 (see M. Livingstone, Patrick Caulfield: Paintings, Aldershot, 2005, p. 268).
