A pair of 2-inch (5.1cm.) diameter masonic globes, the terrestrial by GEORGE PHILIP & SON LTD 32 FLEET STREET LONDON E.C.4 [c.1930], made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, with no graduations, the continents outlined in green, red and orange with no national boundaries, and few cities shown, only country names and rivers (some varnish loss and discolouration); the celestial SMITH'S CELSTIAL GLOBE George Philip & Son Ltd 32 Fleet Street, E.C. , made up of twelve chromolithographed gores, with graduated equatorial, ecliptic and colures, the constellations shown by mythical beasts and figures, stars to five orders of magnitude (varnish loss, discolouration, slight crack to wooden sphere between two gores, gores probably reproductions), each raised on brass support, the celestial with moulded scroll and foliate decoration, on a tall tapering turned column, that of the celestial with fluting, to square stepped plinth base -- 17in. (43.2cm.) high
