Lot Essay

An unusual album showing the fabric of the camp and life within it, the emphasis apparently on the more positive aspects of life in captivity. Portraits, including British Indian and French African troops, Russians, Italians and French prisoners, a few signed by sitters; sporting activities, the camp shoe factory and shoe shop, the photography studio and library.
