Melawan siapa (Fighting who)

The movement in this work is reminiscent of the artist's own experience with traditional Balinese dance in his younger years. The dance which he protested against whilst learning it as a child has become a way to accentuate his Balinese cultural identity since leaving his home island. Depicting the figures working together to push back the all-encompassing white wall, 'Fighting who' evokes feelings of ritualism and primitivism which bring potent and symbolic value to his work.
