Lot Essay

In technical terms Water Stop is one of the artist's most complex lithographs as nine stones and one plate were involved in printing the edition. Some of the images, particularly the photograph of the black ghetto, the railroad track, and the title, refer to the presidential candidacy of Robert Kennedy. The edition was completed and signed one week before his assasination.
