The present lot, reference 5513, with the so-called 'Explorer' dial is a well sought after Submariner model. The dial gets its name from the Explorer model that typically has luminous Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock.

Other examples of reference 5513 are illustrated in The Best of Time - Rolex Wristwatches, by James M. Dowling & Jeffrey P. Hess, p. 267; and in Vintage Rolex Sports Models by Martin Skeet & Nick Urul, p. 37.
