Lot Essay

The present “Leopard” Daytona is preserved in very good overall condition. Hardly worn it still retains the factory protective sticker to the case back and is furthermore sold with the full set of accessories.

At the 2004 Baselworld Rolex made a bold statement with the launch of reference 116598SACO, its striking design enjoyed immediate success among collectors. The leopard-skin dial is enhanced by diamond-set numerals and gilt subsidiary dials, the leopard-skin motif is repeated on the leather strap. The case is embellished with 36 baguette-cut cognac-coloured sapphires, the hoods between the lugs with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds – clearly a watch that will not go unnoticed.
