ROOSEVELT, Eleanor. Oval portrait of Eleanor with her sons James (about 3 years old) and Elliot (about 9 mos.), probably Hyde Park, 1910 or 1911. Oval, 5¾ x 4 in., in a fine silver frame by Tiffany & Co., New York, with floral etched border and engraved at bottom with script monogram ("FCC"?). An excellent sepia-toned image of the young mother with infant Elliott on her lap, James standing alongside.
Behind the oval portrait of Eleanor and her children are three oval portraits of unidentified women, probably friends of Eleanor's.
Provenance: Anna Eleanor Roosevelt, found among her papers at Val-Kill Cottage, 1962.
